Who we are
55 well-known automotive parts manufacturers, market leaders all, have joined forces in this association. The members of VREI intend to support and defend their interests in the spare parts market in close cooperation with other organisations.
Our work is meant to benefit the entire automotive industry. We want to be a competent and fair partner for the automotive parts industry, the spare parts market, and the automotive business.
Since its foundation in 2002 VREI has, therefore, been intensively involved in various workshops and working groups with current issues impacting the independent aftermarket. The use of tools, for instance, was one of the issues which is highly involved in legal terms and cannot always be clearly interpreted; others are the implementation of recommendations and directives of the current Block Exemption Regulation as well as the possible standardisation of transport containers. We are currently working intensively on the projects “Product and Trademark Piracy”, “Technical Information for the Workshops”, and “The Block Exemption Regulation after 2010”.
The active cooperation within the framework of VREI provides its members with a platform for an exchange of ideas and experiences. Current developments and changes in the free spare parts market affect rarely only individual players at both the national and the international level. VREI membership therefore also helps in rapidly developing effective solutions for existing problems and finding answers to the tasks of the future.
